Before diving into our journey, I want to highlight a significant partnership that set the stage for our exciting adventure. Peachscore joined forces with NRW.Global Business to revolutionize startup support. This collaboration aimed to enhance the startup ecosystem in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, and provide valuable resources for budding entrepreneurs.Our partnership with NRW.Global Business brought together the expertise of both organizations. NRW.Global Business, with its deep understanding of NRW’s business landscape, and Peachscore, known for its innovative Data-driven Accelerator Program, made for a powerful combination. Together, we aimed to empower startups and drive innovation in the region.
Day 1: Exploring NRW’s Thriving Startup Ecosystem
Our journey officially kicked off on August 15, 2023, with a special day of exploration, thanks to Joerg Rose of NRW.Global Business. We had the privilege of visiting some of the finest organizations in NRW dedicated to nurturing startups and fostering the local startup ecosystem.
Our adventure began in Aachen, where we met the innovative team at digitalHUB Aachen e.V. We were even treated to a captivating pitch by one of their startups. Digital Hub, also known as the Digital Church, is a unique co-working space and accelerator housed in a beautifully repurposed church.Next, we visited the Collective Incubator in Aachen, an organization closely aligned with the local university, providing vital support to students and early-stage startups.
Our journey continued with a short drive to Köln, where we explored xdeck—a thriving organization making a significant impact on Köln’s startup community. Their co-working spaces, accelerator programs, and venture funds are just a few years old, but they’re already making waves.
From there, we headed to STARTPLATZ, another impressive co-working space with a startup accelerator that focuses on early-stage founders. Our final stop was the Köln Business - Startup Unit, a valuable partner of NRW.Global Business, providing support to startups eyeing Köln for their growth path.
One of the day’s highlights was an unexpected visit from one of our very own Peachscore Accelerator cohort members, Michael H.W. Schmitz of AMVLET GROUP! Meeting him and his co-founder in person, along with his son, was a fantastic experience. Michael even treated us to a delightful dinner at his family’s restaurant in Köln—a perfect way to conclude an amazing day!
I’m truly inspired by the passionate teams we met, all working tirelessly to support their local startup ecosystems. This collaboration is what our industry is all about, and I’m excited to build strong relationships with all of them as we continue to support current and future startup founders together.
Day 2: Düsseldorf’s Economic
On August 16, 2023, we had the privilege of attending an informative session hosted by The Office of Economic Development Düsseldorf, followed by a tour of Mitsubishi Electric. It was eye-opening to learn about the excellent business climate in Düsseldorf and NRW as a whole. A special thanks to Mitsubishi Electric and Niels C. Meinke for the insightful tour.
Day 3: DIGITAL DEMO DAY
The most anticipated day arrived on August 17, 2023—DIGITAL DEMO DAY! This event was nothing short of fantastic and is a must-attend for all startup founders.Peachscore’s booth buzzed with activity throughout the day, with founders eager to learn about our Data-driven accelerator program. I had the privilege of speaking to the United States delegation from the Consulate, as well as Consul General for the U.S. Consulate General in Düsseldorf, Pauline Kao.Our accelerator cohort startup, nFlux AI, also shone brightly at the event, with their booth bustling with activity. Adam Phillips and Marta Rodriguez Padron did an outstanding job sharing nFlux’s story and the value they bring to the market. Another cohort startup, Michael H.W. Schmitz of AMVLET GROUP, was present, engaging attendees with their compelling offerings.A heartfelt thank you to Joerg Rose of NRW.Global Business and Denise Schieberl of The Office of Economic Development Düsseldorf for their unwavering support.
